Emergency accommodation
“We encourage our residents to join in with planned activities, attend resident meetings, make suggestions and access the complaints system if they need to do so. The accent is on making the Night Shelter user-friendly, providing a base from which homeless people can move on to independent living and successfully integrate into the community.”
Pearl, Night Care Worker
O'Hanlon House provides direct access emergency accommodation for homeless people aged 26 and over. A homeless person will be admitted if there is a bed available, and if s/he complies with the rules.
Cost
There is a fee of £3 per person per night, which includes accommodation, a hot meal and shower facilities.
Booking
Residents must book on a daily basis. Bookings are taken between 2pm and 3.30pm. New arrivals can put their name down during this period and any spare beds will be allocated at 4pm.

Violent or intimidating behaviour is not accepted. The use of non-prescribed drugs and the dealing of drugs are not tolerated on the premises. However, we do accept homeless people who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Alcohol can be consumed in a separate 'wet room' between 9am and 10pm.
